Use Zoom to Record and Share Class Meeting Audio (like a podcast!)
When you record a Zoom meeting, two or three files are created. A video and audio file (a .MP4 file type), an audio only file (a .M4a file type), and if there was a chat, a text file (a .VTT file type).
Sharing only the audio file, the .M4a, allows your students to listen to the class meeting, rewind, review concepts and discussions, and help with note taking. Sharing the separate audio file also supports those students with vision impairment. These practices support a component of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) by providing student's access to course content in a variety of formats.
Once you record your Zoom meeting, either locally to your computer (see https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362473-Local-recording Links to an external site.), or to the Zoom cloud (see https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/203741855-Cloud-recording Links to an external site.), you can access the recording files.
